Well... this has been an amazing experience... I'm happy because I know that I helped lots of homeless but I'm sad because It's over. I was already missing my family and friends but I will leave Tom and the boys... It's so hard to describe my feelings right now.... I have mixed feelings about leaving. What I'm sure is that this wasn't a lost year as my parents told me... If I start thinking everything we made, it's incredible... we convert homeless people into normal, well feed people with houses, entertainment and a beautiful community. I'm still having the image of their faces with a huge smile when their houses were constructed, that was true happiness.
        But this isn't over, I promised Ray and the group to visit them at least once per year... so we can't say "The end", it's more like "Till next time".

The second day we decided to make a trip to the beaches where we were going to teach the homeless how to collect and eat coconut (I have to admit that it was Ray’s idea). So we woke up early in the morning and started walking to the beach that was very far, the idea was to walk and when we spot a homeless to make him part of the “lesson”, so when we arrived we got like 20 homeless. Ray was disappointed because he wanted more people to go… but 20 people it’s a very good start (in my opinion). We arrived just at lunchtime and started cutting branches of trees (we didn’t want the tree to die, that’s why we didn’t cut down) and when we had enough wood we started making the stairs with hammers and constructing stuff. When we finally made them everybody was starving (we didn’t though about the time lost on constructing the stairs) then we used the stairs to reach the coconuts that were at the top of the palm trees and finally we made a hole on each coconut to reach the “milk”, “sauce”… (The milk of a coconut is one of the richest foods on vitamins). Everybody had fun and we were actually really helping the homeless. When we decided to return to the city it was too late… it was the night already so we decided to sleep at the beach.

                When we woke up everybody was there. And Tom had the great idea of playing a football game all together. And with the football, the beach, the sun, the coconut we had the best day of our lives!! And Then Alice decided to bring some fishing rods and she taught people how to fish. So that night we all ate fish and drink coconut milk! I had a very satisfying feeling, because everything that we were doing was produced by ourselves, it’s funny to say it this way but we were like a mini-community.

                The next day we woke up absolutely amazed by what was happening. Belive it or not, the homeless people were constructing houses!!! They took the constructing stuff and cut trees and made houses, they were not real houses… they were more like rigid tents but it’s something incredible anyway. That day we constructed houses for everybody and then we left… we didn´t wanted to leave but… The guys (Tom, Alice…) wanted to visit their families so we left but we were so excited by what we created… we created a real civilization, they had houses, food, entertainment, everything! So we promised the “homeless” (that now had houses, so they were not homeless anymore) that we would return in 2 or 3 days. It was the best experience of my entire life. 

When I arrived to the Somalian airport I was completely exhausted… but… I knew that having a good start it’s important. So, after leaving the airport I took a taxi and after 15 minutes I was at the door of “The nutrition center”, I was like a little disappointed because it looked like a boring place, the walls grey, without any strong color to animate people. Then I knocked at the door and after 30 seconds a guy opened the door and shouted “Nacho!!!!” he “hugged” me (he squashed me instead). I was so happy, after 3 seconds I recognized him… he was Tom. After that scene I entered to the house. At the living room I saw 4 people seated, Alice, Ray, Pat and Julie. I was amazed because it was the first time I really saw these peoples but I already knew them (thanks facebook). Then we chatted a lot about the trip, my expectations and after a while I said “We should paint this place, it’s like depressing, we are an organization that helps people in a funny way… we are not a hospital” after thinking a while they all shared my opinion. Ray said “You know what? I’m going right now to the shop” and he left hahaha. After some minutes he came with all kinds of peinture, they were all very strong and energetic. I loved them. So we started painting immediately, we are not Picasso so we didn´t expect anything perfect, we simply painted the best we could. The result: An incredibly colorful wall with bananas, coconuts, strawberries and plenty of others fruits. We had a great time… it was awesome. It was a great day.
